Stress Testing in Retail Lending

Santa Fe, NM | October 22, 2007 – Strategic Analytics is partnering with Marcus Evans to offer a unique two-day training program for stress testing in New York on December 10th and 11th.

Stress testing has become a very important part of retail lending. The use of advanced forecasting and stress testing techniques enable lenders to anticipate portfolio problems, improve portfolio and capital management, and comply with increasingly demanding regulatory requirements. Better planning avoids reactionary management, one of the highest possible costs in a business with high fixed costs and long resource lead times. In addition, there is immediate payoff from using your stress testing results to guide product pricing, consider new product features, and develop contingency plans.

During the Marcus Evans course in New York you will learn how to approach stress testing retail portfolios in principal and practice. The program will cover areas such as data gathering, scenario-based forecasting and modeling macroeconomic effects on retail portfolios. The course will be led by Strategic Analytics' experts David Ingram Ph.D., Senior Economist, and Michael Smith, Chief Software Architect.

Strategic Analytics develops and markets innovative analytical software applications that enable banks, consumer finance companies and mortgage lenders to build and manage more profitable and less volatile loan portfolios. Our software products are used for scenario-based loss and revenue forecasting, portfolio stress testing, and economic capital. Each application is designed specifically for the unique modeling considerations found in retail lending. SA's software installations analyze over $1 trillion in retail loans worldwide.
